Councillor Li Preti welcomed a group of students from the University of Calabria who visited Toronto on an exchange visit. Earlier in the year, 18 university students from York, Toronto and Waterloo enjoyed a visit to the University of Calabria for a summer course. The exchange of students is not a new project for Councillor Li Preti who also organized several other student exchanges with students from around the world.
Councillor Li Preti as Grand Martial of the Canadian Hispanic Day Committee at Downsview Arena. The second annual parade on Jane St. between Finch and Wilson Ave. attracts tens of thousands of residents who line up the street to observe allegorical floats, colourfully decorated by the various Latin American countries. The parade gives an opportunity to display the best that the Canadian Latin community has to offer in terms of culture, folklore, dance and music in Toronto.
